- Spindle brake and chuck: On an NLX 2500/700 SY (same NLX-family hydraulic power unit and clamp/brake design used across the line), the main spindle brake stuck clamped and the sub-spindle chuck jaws locked up completely because aged hydraulic oil left a residue on the precision hydraulic valve pistons, which stopped moving even though the solenoids were energized; the fix required manual cleaning and the machine had exceeded the recommended 2000-hour oil change interval.
